Meet our Members

Natalie Perkins, Alto

I'm Natalie Perkins, the director of CCJ and a third year at UGA, studying both Theatre and Wildlife Biology. Music, especially singing, has always been a big part of my life, and CCJ gives me the chance to continue it throughout my college years. It's a great way to keep doing what I love, and the music we sing is both fun and challenging to perform. I've loved becoming a part of this close-knit family of talented singers!

Jennifer Lee, Soprano

Hey there! My name is Jennifer Lee and I’m currently acting as CCJ’s President. I am a fourth year Economics student in the Terry College of Business with a minor in Spanish. Before I joined Classic City Jazz, I had been in chorus, show choir, and musical theater since middle school, but I had never had any experience actually singing jazz. I have always loved the fine arts, but found it difficult to find an outlet for it in college. Classic City Jazz has turned out to be the perfect outlet for me. It has given me a chance to sing and create wonderful friendships without being too time consuming or intimidating. In short, I’m honored to be able to consider myself a part of this wonderful and talented group of people!

Melanie Cole, Soprano

Hello! I am a first year pre-pharmacy student at the University of Georgia. Thus far, Classic City Jazz has become a pillar in my life on campus. The group is an excellent musical and social outlet. I wasn't particularly well-versed in jazz as a style of singing prior to joining the group, but since my time with CCJ, I have been able to broaden my stylistic choices and technique variability.

Janis Yoon, Alto

Hi! I'm currently a second year, English major and Lingustics minor at UGA. I am also the secretary, treasurer, and PR chair for Classic City Jazz. I've been singing since I was a kid and have always loved jazz, so Classic City Jazz was a group I knew I wanted to join my freshman year. While challenging sometimes, CCJ has been so worth the while. I've learned more about music and singing through Classic City Jazz than any class, and it's all because of the talented musicians that comprise our group. Growth is inevitable when you join CCJ!

Ashley Tan, Alto

Hi, I'm Ashley! I'm a first year computer science major, and I think jazz is so COOL!!!!!!! I'm super glad to be a part of CCJ and get to explore how cool jazz really is with a bunch of people who think jazz is cool too.

King David, Tenor

Hi my name is King David. I'm a fourth year at the University of Georgia with a double major in International Affairs and French. I have spent most of my life as a musician and I had been studying jazz for a few years, but being in Classic City Jazz finally gave me a way to apply it in performance as well as to learn more about music as an art form. The best part, however, is that I am surrounded by supremely talented and cool musicians who share the same passion for jazz as I do!

Kamran E. Mian, Bass/Baritone

My name is Kamran E. Mian. I am a third year music performance major in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia. I am grateful for the opportunity to perform in this group and sing this music.

Mack Puder, Bass

Hello I'm Mack. I am a psychology major and a sophomore. I got into music via personal study of the guitar. Guitar expanded to many other stringed instruments and eventually to using my voice. I'm also tall and a bass, but I really want to sing soprano. I like Classic City Jazz for the people, and the environment dense with knowledge.
